Eight more days of political ads, eight more days of mud-slinging, and eight more days of people trying to influence your vote in their favor. Hope you’ve been looking past the ads and seriously researching who you’re giving your vote to! And here’s a link that might prove helpful in that research: state-by-state listings of the election ( Read more... )

I'm one of those crazy nutcase people who think that innocent babies should live and murderers should die.

Isn't that just nuts? I mean, why would anyone think that way when people clearly know that it should be the other way around!

/sarcasm

I'm smacked with reality on a daily basis. I'm not stubbornly clinging to ideals or not thinking things through, but thanks for shoving me into a stereotype.

Try being shoved into the other stereotype; I've encountered far too many people who assume that I'm a baby-hating member of Childfree.

Personally, if I got pregnant again, I would not have an abortion. I would keep the baby and raise him/her even if it would leave my family struggling on inadequate income; we'd get by somehow. But having that baby is MY CHOICE to make, not anyone else's.

That's what "pro-choice" means; acknowledging a woman's sovereignty over her own body at all times. Do you really deny that?

Even if you do, I would not lump you in with the terrorists mentioned in that news article. Not unless you start bombing or shooting at Planned Parenthood clinics and harrassing their employees, or denying other women even basic contraception like the Pill or Plan B.

Sure, she's got sovereignty over her own body. But we aren't just talking about her body, are we? We are talking about someone elses body now. It's no longer just a growth she wants removed. It's a human being.

I firmly believe in preventative birth control and think it should be free for anyone who wants it. I think we should pass out condoms and BC pills at schools like candy.

... and let me tell you that from my personal experience in this matter, it's horrific and evil and it should be illegal.

I will say nothing more to you on this and hope you put up some sort of 'abortion rant' filter on your LJ (without me on it).

Thank you for agreeing with me about the contraceptives! I only wish everyone could agree on that much, that they should be freely available without social condemnation from "abstinence-only" proponents; there would be a lot fewer unplanned pregnancies ( ... )
