CONGRATS!!!! Let us know when you need to move your stuff.. we have sean's SUV or if you just need someone to keep an eye on the itty bitty why you do your thing... as for the camera... sean knows so pointers but christian might be the best one to ask on this one..

I do know a bit about the cameras. Something that can survive a fall from a table is always good.

The sony handycam's are pretty popular. DV cameras are gonna be more expensive then a HI8. It really all comes down to what you wanna spend and what you're going to use it for. (How much the quality of the video matters, and how many of those features you want. Just invite me over for some beers and we'll find something you kids can enjoy.)

i don't know what DV or HI8 mean. we don't wanna spend much (i just typed munch like three times, i'm a little drunk), just something to tape the kiddo. let me know your next day off.. i'll supply beer and we'll talk cameras that can survive tables falls.

oh don't get too excited. we didn't buy it AND it's just a duplex.. but we've been at my mom's for a while. that's what makes it good news. ;)

Hard-drive based ones are cool, JVC makes some nice ones.

But you can never go wrong with a Sony... just make sure you have firewire.

Aside from those 2 brands, I'd pass on all the others.
