For a long time, this journal was publicly available, but after several years, it is now friends-only. I guess I just didn't want to be so paranoid as to lock everything down, but I've been convinced (by a boot to the head) that it was probably the smart thing to do

Oh. Now I see. Yes, I don't know why this post specifically was... maybe because I classified the entire journal as containing adult themes?

Yeah, if you set your whole journal to that and someone reads it who doesn't have their year of birth submitted to LJ, they'll get the 'this has adult themes' warning.
