Ah, the Good Ol' Days

So how do you like my new desert at nighttime motif? I was bored on Saturday and decided to explore what "basic" options LJ offered and browsed the "expressive" choices, and found this one. Too many folks were politely complaining about my poor text colors on a dark blue background that I've displayed recently, and I hope this will be friendlier ( Read more... )

Ah, yes, the good old days -- I think I was sometimes in the middle of those scraps, lol! While the newer boards are still going nicely, there aren't quite as many scraps it would seem. Wonder if I should start one....? ;-)

I adore this background! I liked your other one, too, but I like this green background especially well, and the desert motif is a favorite of mine, too!!

It is very lovely, I knew you have ties to Az. I have to admit the desert can be lovely and your background is, but I think it would freak me out to live someplace that had no green and no water. I always enjoyed driving through Taos, NM and other high-desert places when we drove up to BC when I was a kid. ((((Kimby)))).

I've never read his books. I do, however, have "The Diamond of Jeru" on DVD.

I was reminiscing myself about the old board just the other day. I miss it, too. There was something very special about it... maybe it was the fact that it scrolled away after a time and was lost forever. But also, it was a lot like a big chatroom with transparent walls... you could peek in and eavesdrop on everyone! It was lively.

It was pretty rough sometimes, too.

I do really like the background. I had forgotten you were a fan of Louis L'Amour. I remember he was always steadily popular when I worked at the bookstore. He was one of the few authors for whom we tried to stock one of every title.

I changed my background, too. I really liked my old one probably better, but I decided I could use a change.

There really are a handful of people who took those discussions a mite seriously. I put in my longwinded two cents from time to time, too.
