Do you guys do an allowance for Gabe? Zach definitely got less crazy about money once he had it regularly and it wasn't a big special thing to have cash.
On the gifts, can you do the charity gifts for your mom? (Do you know what I'm talking about?)
Chanukah is not as big a gift season as Christmas is, so there's not so much pressure to buy big stuff. Books? Games?

I'm also glad that Chanukah is less a big gift time than Christmas. We do small stuff like books, games, craft stuff.
Kim, I'm sorry this is being so hard for you. We are starting to do charity gifts for family members that have made it clear that they don't want more "stuff". Like gifts in their name to the Heifer Project (http://www.heifer.org/) and such.

Yet there is a conflict within me that sending her flowers or a lobster seems so luxurious. How can we in all good conscience celebrate when so many others are suffering right here, right now? Does my son need anything, the answer is definitely NOT.
