“JunSu! Where are you?” Jae Joong promptly answered the phone.
ChangMin rushed over when he heard his hyeong’s phone rang. He strained his ears to hear what was being said but frowned when he saw the latter’s facial expression.
“Wait, calm down Su-ah…” Jae Joong said as he tried to listen to what his friend was saying, “Speak slowly I can’t understand…what? He what?” Jae Joong turned when he felt someone tugging his sleeve.
Looking up he saw it was ChangMin with concerned eyes asking him what was going on. Jae Joong just held up a hand gesturing for him to wait as he spoke to JunSu.
“Okay Su, please stop crying I’ll be there, just wait for me,” Jae Joong reassured before hanging up.
“So…what’s going on hyeong?” ChangMin asked in a nonchalant tone. Crying? Why was JunSu hyeong crying?
“Hmm? Well that was JunSu…”
“I know hyeong… but why isn’t he here? Did something happen?” ChangMin could barely contain his impatience at his hyeong.
“Park YooChun broke up with him,” Jae Joong fished his car keys out of his pocket before answering ChangMin, needing to hurry and get to JunSu’s apartment.
“Oh? That was expected I guess,” ChangMin looked relieved as he made his way towards the restaurant. “They weren’t compatible in the first place,”
ChangMin’s reaction had surprised Jae Joong but he smiled to himself as ChangMin’s weird behavior suddenly made sense. Could it be that my dongsaeng has feelings for my best friend? How was it that I’ve never noticed it before?
“Where are you going Min-ah?” Jae Joong asked when he realized that ChangMin was not following him towards the car park.
“Eat. Do you know how difficult it was to get reservations here?” He pointed towards the barbeque restaurant whose delicious smells had been provoking him for the past 30 minutes.
Jae Joong wondered if he had made a mistake in guessing ChangMin’s real feelings. “JunSu is upset and is probably crying his eyes out now, heed my advice dongsaeng JunSu is very vulnerable right now and comforting him could open his heart to you.”
“What are you talking about hyeong?” ChangMin blushed furiously at having his feelings discovered by his hyeong.
“Did you think I didn’t know?” Jae Joong wriggled a finger at his dongsaeng.
“Open his heart?” ChangMin looked doubtful as he blew out a breath, “I dunno hyeong…I don’t think the timing is right.”
“Okay then, enjoy your dinner Min-ah and I’ll be spending the night at JunSu’s, so don’t wait up for me,” Jae Joong waved goodbye as he headed once more towards the car park.
He had only walked a few paces when he heard ChangMin running towards him, calling out, “Hyeong wait up! Do you think we could stop somewhere… a drive through to pick up some food? I mean maybe JunSu hyeong is hungry too?”
Looking at a slightly breathless ChangMin made Jae Joong burst out laugh.
Perhaps he wasn’t wrong after all.
End.
