I always always always want to join the New Paper Big Walk but family/ friends decline to join with me for reasons like "So early, so tiring, so crowd" etc etc etc, but this year my boyfriend actually willingly don't mind joining with me! Yeah Yeah : fist in air :
We decided to meet at the promenade mrt at circle line and when I'm on the way, I already see a lot of people wearing the free T-shirt. Hehehe, of course lar, only participators will wake up so @$#@#^ early just for the Big Walk.
At first we wanted to change into our free T-shirt (we got the wrong size shirt when registering), but the toilet was crowded >_< so we just head to venue.
The goody bag collection point is so crowded and everyone is packed like sardines >_< Helpers do their best to guide the crowd , directing the people to line up properly. Jia you!
exchanging our cards for goody bag
Along the way towards the exit, there are helpers handing out more freebies at the side. We score a free New Paper and Frisbee (I thought it's a fan, lol)
our loot! lots of snacks!
- walking towards the flag off point. We heard a horn sound and the Big Walk have start!
- New paper model finalists wave us off while boyfriend is drooling over them.
- reach the flag off point, off we go!
- we are walking on the actual tracks used by the F1 drivers!
Yeah, my boyfriend keep nagging there's something wrong with the distance markers, we reach near a U-turn part and it's already 1km, sure or not! Later the 2km marker appear... got so fast ler? O_O;;;
-bayfront bridge, onwards to marina bay sands
- woooo, my first time up close with the building
- some reporters interview one of the fancy dress participators, so cute
- beautiful city line scenery
- and we reach Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade! End of the walk!
Some weird artsy structure that spray water mist to cool us down
- a lot of water sports going on, wind surfing, kayaking etc
Time for rant, apparently his son got onto the new paper so I will call him Uncle Chin. his face censor in case he try to sue me =p
So there have these free Zorb ball rides and we are near to this Uncle Chin and his children. His tone of voice is so mean and the crew I can feel doing their best to answer his questions.
"Why can't I join my children in the ball?"
"Why only one person per ball?"
"Why can't I go onto the platform?" (where the equipment, staff are)
"but if I can't go onto the platform, I can't take photos of my children! They are too far away!"
... UNCLE YOU'RE USING A F**KING DSLR. If your camera can't handle long range photo, then we should just throw away our normal camera. Sheesh. The time he spend hogging up the line with lameo question can allow the next person to play ler.
With the annoying uncle away, we wait for our time. Each person have 15 mins to play but it take time to inflate the Zorb ball too.
I keep loling at this couple, cause the guy keep running on the ball and fall down.
And when it's my turn, I can't even stand up straight. Whoooh, *wobble wobble, falls down heavily. pant pant*. In the end, I just lie down and enjoy the feeling on lying on water.
very futuristic ... errr fan?
- loads of activity for kids like sand castle making, kite making, inflatable castle
- haha, maybe a hint of relationship? All of wife biscuits are all sold out (girls all taken) but the husband biscuit are errr not popular?
went to Lau Pa Sat for breakfast, with the large crowd, most stalls have long lines. I feel the stalls owners should hire more help. Even our breakfast of chee chong fong almost took one hour to buy it oTL
Next we went to watch Inception

Wow, just wow. The movie, I feel it's like the movie Matrix. It really challenge you to think, what if our world is like like ... that?
I feel their acting is really up to standard, especially the part of Leonardo's sadness and his wife rage. The CG skills are really shiok too! Wait, but I read somewhere the director actually build the set so some of the impressive buildings are real? \(O_O)/
Rating wise ... hmmm if you're the type that don't like to think that much, you might get lost but this movie challenge you to think, what if. what if.
5+5/5! Even you get hopelessly lost about the story, the graphics and fighting scene will wow you over. +another 5 for the story
