I personally agree with this, but as with photoshop, for example, there is a tasteful way to use a mary-sue and a very .. bad way to use them.

The term is kind of being thrown around and abused and people don't know what they're talking about when they say 'ew that's a mary-sue' and that's where this author makes a good point.
