even if that's 14$CAN, it's still 12.50$USD..... Is it just taxed to high hell or something?

Well first, everything is more expensive up here anyways for some reason and secondly, there are two taxes on everything other than groceries. There's the PST and the GST (the Provincal service tax? and the Government Service Tax). I think the PST is 7% and the GST just went down from 7% to 6%. So a total of 13% tax on everything you buy! I'd say that's pretty recoculous.
