Chapter 2
"Stop fussing!"
"B-But my h-hair is all o-over the PLACE!" Ashley attacked her brown hair with a large black comb.
"We're gonna be LATE! Ugh, just gimme that!" Kyoko grabbed the comb from Ashley and began running it's teeth through the tangled mess.
"It's not my fault I fight with my hair every morning!" Ashley huffed.
"I'm not any better! Heck, I just gave up and put it up!" Sure enough, Kyoko’s jet black hair, normally down to her mid-back, was put up into a messy bun, her bangs brushed neatly to the side.
"Pfft. I'm too lazy to put it up though!" Ashley moaned. But finally, the battle with Ashley's hair was won and they both set off towards the cafe.
Meanwhile...
"Aw! C'mon you guys!" Ryosuke pleaded with them.
"But we don't even know her!" Takaki retorted.
"It might be fun though!" Chinen chimed in.
"Hmm...The sun is bright...It looks safe." Everyone turned to Ryutaro who just shrugged and returned to his DS.
"Look, Yama-chan, do we have to?" Daiki said, exasperated.
"I don't know, we really don't have anything else to do..." Keito murmured quietly.
"FINE! You don't ALL have to go! But PLEASE Daiki? PLEEEEEEASE?!" Ryosuke flashed him his best smile. Daiki couldn't take it.
"F-Fine! BUT! Keito's coming with us!"
"EEEEH?! WHY ME?!" In an instant, Keito had disappeared from his spot on the couch and in front of Daiki who raised an eyebrow.
"I thought you WANTED to go mister we-don't-have-anything-to-do-today. Besides, I need someone to keep me from bolting."
"B-But, I didn't mean...I meant that...ARGH! Fine!" Daiki looked awfully smug and Keito pouted a bit. Ryosuke was beaming.
"Yay! Now let's go! Ja ne!" Ryosuke skipped happily out the door with Daiki and Keito trailing along behind.

Kyoko tapped her foot on the ground, making a soud each time her shoe made contact with the cement.
"Do you mind?!" Ashley snapped.
"Well my bad! But in case ou haven't noticed, mister boyfriend's a WEE bit late!" Kyoko said, with a hint of sarcasm. Ashley let out an exasperated sigh.
"I know but HE said-- OH LOOK!" Kyoko followed Ashley's gaze towards the road where Ryosuke was running across, solemnnly followed by two other guys.
"Ryo-chan!" Ashley ran into the open arms of Ryosuke who greeted her enthusiastically.
"Nice to see you too Yama-chan." Kyoko refrained from rolling her eyes with great difficulty.
"Hey Kyoko!"
"Heeeeey..." Then Kyoko found herself engulfed by Ryosuke.
"Do y-you MIND?!" She choked out the words and Ryosuke let go of her immediately, his eyes became apologetic and Kyoko's expression softened. In the corner of her eye, the two boys who came with Ryosuke were sniggering quietly. Ryosuke seemed to notice and turned around abruptly.
"Oh yeah! Ashley, Kyoko," He walked over to the boys and stood in between them, a hand on each boy's shoulder.
"This is Keito and Daiki, Keito, Daiki, this is Ashley and Kyoko." All four mumbled a 'hello' and Ryosuke took Ashley by the hand and dragged her inside, leaving the other three to follow. This time, Kyoko's eyes automatically rolled. One of the boys, apparently named Keito, noticed.
"Anything you'd like to warn us about before we proceed to the world of Ryosuke?" Kyoko giggled and sighed.
"Nothing except they might exclude us out a teeny bit being in they're own world and all so, try not to feel too much of an outsider, believe me it ain't fun." Keito laughed and Daiki grinned.
"Tell me about it, Ryosuke begged us to come,"
"What are YOU talking about Dai-chan?! You AGREED to come, you just forced me to come too!" Kyoko laughed and shook her head.
"Don't worry about it you guys. I was supposed to spend the day with Ashley, but, well, THIS came up so Ryosuke suggested that I come along too." Kyoko sighed and looked at her toes. Keito felt a stab of pity for the girl and placed a warm hand on her shoulder. She looked up, colour attacking her normally pale cheeks but Keito kept his hand firmly on her shoulder, giving her a small smile.
"It's okay, me and Dai-chan are here to keep you company." Kyoko smiled and Daiki grinned.
"Eh, do you think those two will mind if we ditched?" Keito took his hand of Kyoko's shoulder and shrugged.
"Well, they are trapped in their own world..." Kyoko shifted her eyes from Daiki to Keito, curious about what they were thinking about.
"Erm, Kyoko-chan, what do you think?" Kyoko's eyes widened when Daiki addressed her so casually, not that she didn't like it, Ashley spoke to her like that all the time.
"Well, I'm really not all that hungry, but they might notice that we're ALL missing so I'm not sure if--"
"Dai-chan! Stay," Then Keito turned to Kyoko, grabbed her hand and dragged her back across the street.
"OI! KEITO! HEY! WHAT ABOUT ME?!"
"WE'LL BE BACK!" Keito shouted back, Kyoko running after him as if her life depended on it.
"Ba-ka." Daiki spat and he entered the Cafe. The soft jingle of the bells was barely audible but Daiki felt like it made the noise of a gong. Inside, there were couples everywhere but it was easy enough to spot Ryosuke and Ashley, because they were the only table with a whole plate of strawberries. Daiki rolled his eyes and sighed, silently making his way over to the table. Apparently they hadn't noticed him yet so he sat quietly and went off into his own world. I'm going to kill that guy. Jheez, why'd he have to leave me? I want some fun too... Aw, he's probably going to hook up with that Kyoko chick. How about me? I feel so... ARGH. Now I know how those lonesome penguins feel. It's not fun to be left out. I should've stayed with the rest of the group. Oh well...Hmm, I wonder if Yama-chan will notice if I took a small strawberry... Daiki slowly reached for the plate and just as he touched a strawberry Ryosuke's hand grabbed his wrist and pushed his hand back making Daiki howl in pain.
"ITTAI! IT'S JUST ONE STRAWBERRY!"
"Ryo-chan! You're hurting him!" The shock seem to eliminate all the pain Daiki was feeling in his right wrist. He turned wide-eyed to the now tomato-red girl who kept her head down. Ryosuke let go of his wrist and pouted.
"G-Gomen Dai-chan..."
"It's okay..." An awkward silence fell between the three as Ryosuke snapped his head from Ashley to Daiki, who were both now equally coloured to the plate of strawberries that sat in the middle. After what seemed like ages, a burst of laughter penetrated the silence and all three, glad for a chance to look up, stared at the doorway where Keito was leading Kyoko by the arm inside the Cafe.
"And THEN he's all like 'PLEEASE?!' and then Dai-chan was all like 'AW! FINE!' and I was trying NOT to laugh..." Kyoko laughed merrily, her eyes watering.
"Well, this morning I was like 'HURRY UP!' and she was all like 'BUT MY HAIR!' and I was like 'We're gonna be late!'" It was Keito's turn to laugh. Then, the pair had stopped in front of their table and each had a smile plastered on their faces. Keito wrapped his arm around Kyoko's shoulders and Kyoko rested her head on his chest.
"So what's up you guys?" Ashley sprang up from her seat, gave Ryosuke a swift kiss, and nodded in Daiki's direction, waved goodbye to Keito and grabbed Kyoko from his grasp.
"Wha--?"
"JA! I'll tell you later..." She whispered to Kyoko. Kyoko had barely registered anything and just watched blankly as the Cafe grew smaller and smaller.
~
The scene that had just occured was just beginning to sink in and Keito, Daiki, and Ryosuke all stared at each other, all in their own world. Keito's grin was slowly fading, Daiki's eyes started shrinking to normal size, and Ryosuke popped a strawberry into his mouth.
"That was fun." Keito mumbled, back to his quiet self. Daiki snorted.
"Hmph, and YOU said YOU didn't want to go."
"You weren't any better Dai-chan!" Ryosuke chuckled.
"Whatever! I still should've stayed back there, I had nothing to do here..." But something's making me feel happy that I came...Naw, what am I thinking? I really should've just stayed back... Daiki involuntarily shook his head to get rid of these thoughts and turned to the other two.
"We really should be getting back now, it's almost 3."
"Hai, let's go!"
"Okay..." So the three boys stood and walked out the Cafe, all in their own worlds.
