5 Times People Thought That Ryutaro Was Older Than Daiki

I
Daiki sat down on a chair by the corner. He checked his schedule to see when it would be his turn in front of the camera. He then checked his watch and groaned. He needed to kill an hour and a half of his time. His lower lip stuck out and he sighed. Then, a shadow fell across him. He looked up and saw Ryutaro, his eyes big with concern.
"What's wrong Dai-chan?" Daiki sniffed.
"I'm hungry and BORED! I still have to wait a whole hour!"
"--and a half." Ryutaro added, glancing at the schedule. Daiki sighed again and slumped against the back of the couch. Then Ryutaro poked his cheek.
"Ano, you wanna go eat some ice cream? My treat!" Ryutaro grinned as Daiki's eyes lit up. He began jumping up and down, attracting attention from some of the Jrs.
"Yay! Thanks Ryu-kun! Wee!" Daiki skipped out the door and Ryutaro followed closely behind, right past Shintaro and Taiga, who started whispering together.
"Ne, Shin-chan. Sometimes I think your nii-chan is more of a nii-chan to Daiki-kun than to you." Shintaro pouted and folded his arms.
"Hmph!" He huffed, but he couldn't help but to agree.

II
"Yabai!" Ryutaro had opened the door but it was Daiki who spoke. There was a long line-up for the ice cream. Daiki's face fell and Ryutaro felt bad, but he couldn't do anything about it. That's when the old lady standing off to the side saw Daiki and Ryutaro.
"What's the matter boys?" Daiki didn't answer and just pouted. Ryutaro sighed.
"I wanted to treat him our for some ice cream. We needed to kill some time while we waited for our turn to do...something. Now, we have to wait even more." The old lady smiled.
"We can fix that!" Before Ryutaro could refuse, much less do anything else, the old lady hobbled to the front of the line where a woman stood, second in line, Ryutaro saw her glance back at him and then at Daiki, who was sitting down looking disgruntled. Then she nodded and the old lady came back with a grin.
"I'ts all settled then mister. Just step in front of my daughter there," she pointed to the woman she had been talking to, "just stand in front--no no, it's okay, really." She said loudly when Ryutaro showed signs of protesting. She patted him on the arm.
"It's alright. It's just nice to see young people treating their younger siblings nicely for a change." Then she mumbled something about her brother just grunting all the time. On that note, she shuffled away, leaving Ryutaro puzzled.

III
Daiki was eating his mint chocolate chip ice cream happily, constantly thanking Ryutaro who repeated "Hai" more times than he could count.
"Mmm, oishi! Arigatou Ryu-kun!" Daiki said yet again.
"Hai hai..." Ryutaro replied automatically. He then poked Daiki's cheek.
"At least you're not bored anymore!" Daiki giggled and nodded. That's when they heard an ear-splitting shriek. Daiki and Ryutaro spun around. There, they saw a horde of fangirls shrieking, then charging towards their direction.
"HE POKED DAIKI-KUN'S CHEEK! KAWAII!!!" They shouted. The two boys ran, but they weren't fast enough. Then Daiki tripped and his cone went flying out of his hand. His eyes clouded and he was pouting once again. Ryutaro turned wearily to the mass of fangirls, all taking pictures with their phones.
"Girls! Look what happened! Dai-chan's ice cream is now gone! Look!" He pointed to a light green lump with bits of the cone smushed into it. Then the girls eyes moved to Daiki's face and they all let out an "AW!" before realizing what they'd done. Ryutaro sighed and walked to Daiki, wrapping a brotherly arm around his shoulders.
"It's okay, we'll pass by somewhere on our way back if you want..." Daiki sniffed.
"H-Hai. Arigatou Ryu-kun, sometimes it feels like I'm stealing Shin-chan's place ne." Ryutaro smiled and patted Daiki on the head.
"It's an automatic thing then." They started walking, leaving the fangirls watching, astonished.
"Ne, I always thought Ryutaro-kun was younger than Daiki-kun!" said one.
"Un, looks like it's the other way around." said another. There was a wave of agreement and the crowd dispersed, no doubt to update to consult their blogs.

IV
"Thanks anyway Ryu-kun!" Daiki was bondy once again. They were approaching the building. They had passed by a convenient store where they bought a pack of cards to keep themselves busy. Daiki opened the door of the building and stepped inside. Ryutaro followed suit and then he accidentally tripped over the carpet. The cards went flying out of his hand, the box opening and cards spewing out. Ryutaro groaned and knew he had to pick it all up. However, Daiki was jumping up and down in the storm of cards. It was at that moment that the elevator door opened and out stepped Taiga and Shintaro. Another pair of elevator doors opened, but no one seemed to notice who stepped out.
"I'm telling you, Ryu-kun is Dai-chan's nii-chan!" Shintaro pouted and sniffed.
"No, he just acts like it!" He whispered.
"Same thing..." The man who had come out from the elevator gasped. Ryutaro was OLDER than Daiki? How did he make such a mistake? The man groaned and whispered angrily to himself.
"Jeez Johnny! How could you MISS that?!" He looked from Daiki to Ryutaro who was now picking up the fallen cards while Daiki just hopped around. He shook his head and whispered again.
"Johnny Johnny Johnny. You're getting to old to keep up with these young people. You can't even tell who's YOUNGER anymore!"

V
Daiki and Ryutaro had finally returned to find that the rest of JUMP were sitting around relaxing. Apparently, they were on break.
"Oh, hey Dai-chan, Ryu-kun." They said, Daiki waved and Ryutaro nodded.
"DAI-CHAN!" Chinen sang. Daiki grinned and went off with Chinen to play.
"NO WAY!" The rest of JUMP all spun to face Keito, who hadn't realized he had shouted out loud in english. He looked up from his laptop and saw seven pairs of eyes on him.
"O-Oh, gomen. It's just--here..." He turned his laptop around so it would face them and saw thatKeito was reading a fangirl's blog. Yabu and Hikaru were the first to finish and they looked troubled. Slowly, everyone else became confused. Ryutaro was the last to finish and by the time he looked up from the screen, everyone had recovered.
"Wow."
"Then you should be in BEST..."
"I thought I knew you..."
"Weird!"
"I KNEW IT!"
"Sugoii..."
"This explains SO much..." Ryutaro looked helplessly from one member to another, trying to find the words to explain.
"But I'm not--" They interrupted him.
"I understand. You're probably not comfortable with BEST. It's okay, really! We understand!" Ryutaro's mouth was opened but no sound came out. So he just stood stiffly as he was patted on the back by his fellow members. Oh boy...
