Sometimes I would like to hang out with people. But I don't want to hang out with a bunch of drunks just to be around people. Or have people preasure me into drinking to hang out with them. I don't get it. What's so great about drinking everyday and every night? Getting sloppy drunk, making mistakes, and acting like a fool. That's how people hang ( Read more... )

I like to think that I can use alcohol as a tool to decrease my level of anxiety. People have to be able to make the distinction, though, between the line of using alcohol to get used to being comfortable in groups and only being able to socialize if they're drunk or high.

You're right, it is you. You see this line, and you don't want to cross it which is beneficial to learning and growing in society.

I'm glad I'm working as a busser now, because it forces me into these social situations where I have to react, in a way develop my skills at chatting and interacting.

Some people know how to do it responibly. But everyday? Seems like a lot to me. I guess I just have really different feelings toward weed and alcohol. Because I would smoke everyday and I didn't think it was out of hand. I wasn't getting retardly high either. And now that I haven't smoked for almost six months I still don't think what I was doing was too much or out of hand.

I guess that's just what a lot of people do around this age to have fun. And like Chelsea said down there, maybe they don't know any other way of having fun.

It's not just you dude, I feel the same way!

All my 'friends' from high school just hang out and get shit faced alllllllll the time.
I can't stand it. I'm over it. I'm tired of dealing with it. So, I stopped hanging out with them.

Why do people do that?!

That's seriously all they do so I cut off contact with them because the times I did drink were embarassing and no one looked out for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't get it.

I completley relate. After about 3 years of partying, that is. But none the less I see the light. I've had some friends ditch me when I was in crisis because they were too preoccupied with a party. People become immune to emotions and don't give a shit about amything but scoring some and who knows about a kegger. Fuck that.

Exactly. They are supposed to be your friends but somehow think it's funny that you are so fucked up. I called it quits after one night I didn't remember a thing. Obviously it's not really their responsibility to make sure I don't drink so much but a real friend would've stopped it and made sure I was okay.

"And I only drink what I like, not whatever's around."

Exactly. It's sad really. I don't want to be around people that would eat their own turds if it meant they'd get wasted.

I guess we are grown ups because we already figured out that drinking and drugging excessively is a waste of time and we don't want our livers to be shot by the time we are 30.

Why are we so great? haha
