To argue against homosexual marriage, you really have to argue that the purpose of marriage is procreating as well as uniting. And you need to add a caveat against artificial insemination, something like "a child has a right to have a mother and a father who are married."
Since birth control is pretty much taken as granted, and children are an optional part of marriage there's only a few Muslims, Catholics, Orthodox, Mormons? and a very small subset of Protestants who will make the above claim.
In other words, I don't think it will be too long before Gay marriage will be legal.
