For someone as community-oriented as your grandmother sounds, I think her funeral sounds beautiful, though very sad indeed. I am really sad to hear of your loss... of all of her loved ones' loss. Death is difficult, but it is something we all must face, and it is important to remember that your grandmother is as significant a person now as she was in life. My best wishes go out to you and your family during this hard time. ♥

Thank you so much. :) Initially it surprised me anytime anyone I hardly know shared their feelings with me in response. Logically I realize death is universal but somehow I imaged no one else would understand, which is incredibly miopic thinking on my part. Initially I felt embarrassed by how much this effected me. I have never lost family before, and never _fully_ grasped how BIG it would be until now. It is not easy, but each kind word warms me and reminds me of the goodness of people. And that's another silver lining to the situation.
