going from this to

cap from lost-media

using
- photoshop cs 2
- selective coloring
- gradient layers

fairly easy for someone who knows the basics in photoshop.


step 001
take your image, resize it


step 002
duplicate it, set the blend mode to screen 90%
layer >> duplicate layer


step 003
make a new layer, fill it with an orange/yellow color, for example #f7c11d


set the layer to soft light 60%
layer >> new >> layer >> mode: soft light
now
select >> all
and
edit >> fill >> color >> #f7c11d


step 004
make a new color adjustment layer
layer >> new adjustment layer >> selective color
set the colors like this-
RED
cyan: -100
magenta: 0
yellow: +100
black: +30

YELLOW
cyan: -100
magenta: 0
yellow: -10
black: 0

NEUTRAL
cyan: +70
magenta: -20
yellow: -70
black: 0



step 005
now, make a new hue/saturaton layer
layer >> new adjustment layer >> hue/saturation
and set saturation to -5


step 006
now crop it how you want to, add text/brushes/whatever and you get the result!
i added a small text brush by colorfilter
