The TARDIS materializes on the fringes of the slightly shabby city, behind a cluster of trees and, ironically, the fifty-first century equivalent of a phone box, something like a high-powered sort of communications booth that's more likely to scan your retina than to politely request the drop of a fifty pence piece

'Settle down' isn't really the right choice of words for what Donna Noble happens to be doing at this particular colonial juncture in time and space. She has plans to settle down, don't get her wrong, but the settling down part of those plans don't come along for a few years and they definitely don't involve the fifty-first century equivalent of Splott, thank you very much.
At the knock, there's a shuffling inside and then the door chimes as it unlocks and slides back to reveal a streak of shrieking red hair. Donna, apparently alarmed or overjoyed, shot through the doorway to catch the Doctor up in a big squeeze of a hug. "Oh my God! You!"
Apparently she thinks better of crushing his poor alien ribs after a minute and lets him go. "You!" she says again, still overdone with excitement. "You -- hang on -- " Donna interrupts herself abruptly, excitement and glee turning a bit towards confusion as she rubber-necks over the Time Lord's shoulder to get a look at the sullen Welsh thing the cat dragged with him. "You?"

To his credit, Ianto has the good grace not to look offended by the not-quite-greeting. He offers Donna a small smile and lifts his hand to wave - a left hand rather noticeably missing a ring that had been there upon their last meeting (which had almost instantly caused her to dismiss him at the time).
"Hello," he greets, managing to accomplish not only polite but also rather pleasant in the process.

The Doctor must admit that he experiences a moment of what one might roughly term squee upon seeing Donna again. He grins right back at her and is nearly bowled over by the hug. He gets lucky when she decides not to snap him like some sort of alien twig, however, and inhales a grateful breath once he's been let go, letting both of his hearts expand back to their original size.
"Me!" he responds. "And you!" And there's a brief pause as he, too, turns to look at Ianto. "And him!"

Oh, he's not wearing his wedding band, is he? But he still seems to know her, so that means he's not been picked up by the Doctor before they met and before he was -- well, Mr. Jones is getting a little sympathetic look from Donna. "Yes!" she says, getting drawn back to the Doctor once they finish their weird sort of hellos and reintroductions. "You and him! Him and you! And me. And tea. Come on in, boys. I'll put the kettle on."
Because the Doctor loves tea and Ianto might need a cup. Or maybe she'd just feel better knowing he had one.
"God, it feels like it's been ages, Doctor. How's your funny old life? Ianto, why're you rattling around in time and space with this prat?" She means this in the most loving way possible and ushers them both into the kitchen. The flat itself is neatly kept, except the few bits of obviousness that she keeps it with a man who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'closet.' Or tie rack. Shoe box. Hamper. Recycling bin, as well, since there's an empty jar of marmalade (if you can decipher the alien ( ... )
