WHO: Tonks kinda-trippy, Teddy kindacanidae, Vinnie cool-vamp
WHAT: Hanging out
WHEN: March 22, day after the full moon
WHERE: Slythermoor
WHY: Tonks wants to look out for her little boy
WITH: short and adorableness

Tonks had finally put the last of the triplets down for nap and went down to wait for Teddy. She just KNEW getting him the permission to come here (for family reasons, truth, signed by her mother his guardian, not so much truth) would succeed.

Ted smiled sweetly at the school matron as he took a pinch of floo powder and stepped into the grate. He was sore, but happy to get out of the castle.

Tonks retrieved a remedy from her cupboard, one she'd learned to brew for Remus so very long ago, lifetimes ago, it seemed. Just in case her little boy needed it.

He tossed the powder down and said "Slythermoor."

Vinnie arched a brow, walking into the room. "You know, you can sit down and wait", he called to Tonks, "But you're probably busy flitting about panicking, right?"

"Something like that. Panicking's a good term," Tonks nodded, as the fireplace flared.

Ted stepped through the grate at Slythermoor and caught the wall before he hit the floor A bit embarrassed at losing his balance, he straightened up and dusted his robes off a bit. "Hi."

"Hey honey," Tonks said with a smile, giving him a gentle hug, then handing him the goblet.

Vinnie chuckled softly. "Nice entrance", he teased, "See, Tonks? He's got your complete lack of co-ordination"

Ted smiled shyly, still a little embarrassed. He sniffed the goblet. "What is it?"

"Potion, helps with after-moon soreness. I used to make it for your father," Tonks explained.

Vinnie smiled, looking at the ceiling and couching a little at the mention of werewolves. "Good stuff, so I hear"

"Can we sit, mum?" Ted blushed at having to ask that, but he still felt off. He took a sip of the potion. It wasn't too bad.

"Of course," she said, leading him over to the couch and sitting down with him, waving her hand at a nearby chair so vinnie could come too.

Vinnie chuckled, moving to sit down, putting his feet up on the coffee table in his usual slouch

Ted sank thankfully down onto the sofa. "Thanks for getting me out of the slam, mum," he joked.

"Any time. Am I going to have to learn how to bake files into cakes now?"

"Please don't", said Vinnie, "Godric will try to eat them"

"Point," Tonks allowed.

"It was a misunderstanding, mostly," Ted said for what felt like the hundredth time. "And no thanks on the escape sweets." He grimaced.

"Hey, I feel ya", grinned Vinnie, "Got brought inta detention over misunderstandings all the time". He paused to consider. "Okay, mostly because I'm a delinquent, but still..."

"I can't say much, I usually skipped out halfway through any of mine," Tonks added.

Ted laughed. "Nah, I try to not give Gran any extra grey hairs to blame me for." He took another sip of the potion. "Well. Mostly."

"Grey hairs are healthy", nodded Vinnie wisely.

"I know I gave her most of them," Tonks said. She kicked at Vinnie's foot. "I won't get grey hairs. It's a gift."

"Says you", Vinnie blew a raspeberry at her.

Ted watched the exchange with interest. It was still weird to see his mum doing anything, and weirder still to see this whole life she had.

"So, Teddy, is it safe to assume the detentions are just for the ridiculous reasons of being out of bounds to perform and wrangle chickens?" Tonks asked.

Ted smiled. "Yeah. It was a good show, and the chicken chasing was pretty cool, too. I got a car."

"A car?"

"Yeah. Angel's a generous guy when chickens invade."

Vinnie snorted. "Hell, I shoulda cashed in, didn't know he was giving out cars"

"Angel gave you a CAR."

"Um. Yes?" Ted took another sip of the potion, it was starting to feel warm and soothing between his joints.

Vinnie chuckled. "Musta been really scared of them chickens"

"You better get a proper muggle license before you even think about driving it," Tonks decided.

"What?" Ted frowned. "That's no fair! They'd never give me a muggle license."

"You have to learn how to drive the thing. The kind of luck your got from me, at least, would have you running into at least a few street lamps."

"And then Mrs. T will throw a fit", said Vinnie.

Ted thought about it. Gran would be pretty unhappy if he did wreck the car, that was true. "There ought to be someone who can teach me..."

Tonks thought for a few minutes. "Lorne drives."

Vinnie looked at her. "You got a point"

"Lorne can teach you," Tonks nodded.
