The penultimate paragraph sums up my feelings about several of my housemates and coworkers. After four years around people with whom I shared a sense of humor, it was a huge shock to enter a world in which my remarks fell flat and others' jokes failed to make me laugh. I spent my first few months here convinced that I'd never again find people similar to my college friends. But then my similarly-disgruntled roommate and I met some of the grad students here, and we gelled splendidly and became better friends than we'll ever be with our housemates. So it's neither you nor them, really. You do have to keep searching, and you'll know when you've met the right people. :)
