Mostly for my own records

Suley slept last night (nursing intermittently) from 8:30 to 9:30 this morning, getting up briefly to be the welcoming party when Tad got home at 3:30.

He napped for an hour today at around one, and an hour and a half starting at six.

Mr. Froggie Pants has been sleeping horribly the last couple of days. Bed at 8:45 or 9 (after 2 hours of trying), waking up no later than 7. Naps ranging from none to one hour.

Usually now (and he's 18 months today), he will go down between 7 and 7:30 and sleep until 7:30 or 8. Then he'll nap from 11-1 or thereabouts. I would like this to be later, as he's invariably cranky by suppertime, when it's too late for another nap.

I have to agree with garrity on the power of suggestion, as Mr. FP's naps at daycare got much longer when they moved him from the infant classroom where the wee ones napped on their own schedules to the toddler classroom where they all nap at the same time. hasn't really been able to get him to sleep reliably, either for naps or bedtime. This, I fear, is because Mr. FP wants to nurse to sleep, and continues to nurse many, many times throughout the night. I don't count the times or mark the hours - that would wake me up too much. I don't mind the night nursing, but we need to start working on going to sleep ( ... )

I have to chime in that my youngest (22 months) NEVER takes a nap at daycare anymore. We've finally figured out why: they play music during naptime and rather than soothe her, it stimulates her. So, three days a week, she does not nap. That just means she goes to bed earlier that night. She was the worst sleeper for the first 15 months of her life (coinciding with sleeping in the bed with me). Now she sleeps from 8pm (or earlier) until about 7am. Uninterrupted. In her own room.

No kidding. It sucks. But, at least both girls are finally beyond infancy and their sleeping habits are better even though the 5 year old has been sleeping with ME for the past two months.

reading this post and the comments is a little distressing.

last night banjo nursed to sleep at 8:30 or 9, nursed at midnight, nursed at some point in the middle of the night, then at six am nursed and couldn't fall back asleep til 7am. he slept til 9am.

i was considering that a really good night. sometimes he will nurse to sleep and then i'll get comfortable and just as i'm dozing off he'll wake up again. i consider three hours to be a good stretch.

i wonder how long this type of thing lasts if you don't take drastic measures.

oh, for the sake of a thorough poll answer - banjo naps once a day, in his stroller. the nap starts anywhere between noon and two, and usually lasts an hour, but has been known to be as short as forty minutes and as long as almost two hours.

Last night, LPP went to sleep at 8:30 and slept til 4 am (yesssss, that's not typical), woke up to nurse, and after nursing promptly went back to sleep til about 6:30. He usually wakes up once or twice in the night, but usually sleeps those hours. He is in a co-sleeper next to our bed, and usually when he wakes to nurse I bring him into bed and we all fall asleep like that til morning.

He naps twice during the day on a good day. An ideal day is a morning nap of 90 minutes and an afternoon nap of about 45-60 minutes. This varies, but my mom pushes for this when she watches him, and I aim for it on weekends too...

Please forgive my off topic comment --

As one of three active journals who list super baby food as an interest, not including myself, I would like to invite you to the superbaby_food community. If you are interested and willing, we would love to have you share your experience, questions or feelings regarding Super Baby Food!

By the way, I love your "...too sexy for..." bio!

I realize 148 friends and 7 communities must keep you really busy, but I do hope you'll consider joining us anyway :)

Hey, thanks for the invite....I'll be there! I'm actually going to join under this, my every day journal, since I don't really check the friendslist of the baby's journal too often.

And yeah, this journal has 357 friends and 41 communities....I'm an IDIOT....but I will definitely read a Super Baby Food community!
