Why are relationships so insanely hard? From my point of view all they do is tear people apart and leave them with scars and emotional damage that sometimes never heals. And yet we crave more relationships. Why is this such a fundamental part of human nature? It confounds me every day

It is all perspective. Pain, joy, sorrow, ect... it is only there cause we think it is. Not saying that means your stupid for feeling these things but only that if we had no prior knowledge of these concepts we would not experience them. To a certain extent that is... In this plain of our "reality" is particularly confusing because we are held back from the truth by the bindings of society. Hence the only Guarantee is that there is no Guarantee. ;) All in all you should not worry for you cannot change the past but only use the past to affect the future. You are still loved and liked! Cheer up mate!
