Weird.

OK, so today went pretty well. I had a good weekend - flat out Saturday what with a job interview, getting to the travel agent's, buying a cell phone, seeing friends for lunch and going to a writers' group function in the evening, arriving home exhausted and falling into bed by 10:30. Sunday our internet was down so Brittn and I went into town to check our email, then I sat in Smoothie King and studied for nearly two hours, knocking over Module Six of my distance ed. course. Went to Kyobo and rewarded myself by buying a packet of stickers (they're so cool; Korean stationery is awesome). Bought a belt (black with rainbow stitching, very cool). Came back and tidied, watched V for Vendetta while I finished the green and blue snuggle and started the pink and purple one. Knocked over several journal entries in JP31.2. Frances called out of the blue and we chatted for about an hour - so good to talk to her. I can't wait til we're face to face over a glass of red.

Anyway, today. Started out early - Katie and Megan are in Bali this week so I can sleep to my own schedule which is awesome. I've been told I get to break the news to her that she can't move into Dave's room when she gets back but I'm trying to keep it out of my head for the time being. I woke up at 3am, wide awake, forced myself back to sleep til 6:30 and got up. Blitzed another journal entry. Knitted three lines of pale pink. Finished all my water before I went downstairs to start the week. Had a pretty normal morning. Small lunch as I was going out tonight for dinner. My class are sweethearts this week. Very nice.

Monday evenings have a nice rhythm to them now. I leave work about 5:45, get a cab to the station, a train to Jeongja and walk to Salem. Have dinner and study til about eight, then walk back to Seohyeon station, get the new bus to Yul-dong then walk up the hill. I get back about 9ish. It is a good evening. Tonight it was topped by the fact that I got back to find a big box on my bed containing a journal for the theme-a-day swap #1. IT'S SO COOL!!! OH MY GOD!!! I could rave about it for ages. It's beautiful. Handcrafted, each page prepared and written on and then all bound together with a hard board cover. Oh wow do I feel spoilt - she also included some teaching resources, paper scraps and a letter. Whew!

Not to sound ungrateful but in addition to receiving that wonderful package I'm also receiving doubt from on high about my new job - I'm waiting for them to send a sample contract through so we can start negotiating. Sort of tenterhooks til then. I've moved things around so I'm going to be free to start when they want me to start; they'd better get their butts in gear and do as they said they would do.

Finally, a quick diet thing. I'm doing well on the detox. I've cut out bread, white flour, white rice, preservatives, soft drink, alcohol, tea, coffee, chocolate, dairy, red meat. This week the goal is to get rid of all my meat - anything I don't use I'm giving away on Sunday. This weekend I'm having time-off-for-good-behaviour - Kevin and Kristen are leaving and having a party on Saturday night and I'd like to go along and enjoy myself. Starting on Monday, though - back to my initial plan, but with no meat either, and smaller portions. Hand-size servings.

I -will- make jaws drop. I'm looking okay, but I want to look better. Sleeker. Smoother. Sexier. When Carla leaves, switching from doing cardio and pilates to the stairs two nights a week, plus sit ups and those PAINFUL leg lifts. I want to be able to do 20 seconds holding that by the time I leave.

It's 10:15pm and I'm getting tired. Time to clean my bed off so I can sleep... I feel very lucky today. So much going on; with six weeks and four days to go til I finish teaching here time is going pretty fast. With a contract signed with JI I will feel a lot better. Fingers crossed it'll be waiting for me when I wake up in the morning, though I'm not holding my breath.

Bed time. I am pathetically tired.
