I did some house sitting for the Munchkin's parents last week.

It was a good week, I got away from people and produced a tolerable amount of material. The house is in Dun Laoghaire and I'm very fond of it. It's a late 19th century pile, with high ceilings and striped wall paper. I found a bound edition of the Strand magazine in the library and ( Read more... )

The following word is probably not as graceful as what you were hoping for, but is certainly not trite, and I feel that it perfectly describes what it refers to. It's not mine, unfortunately, having been coined by my brother:

Whoove:
noun - A long, slow, quiet, melodic fart
verb - to emit a long, slow, quiet, melodic fart (I whooved)

I am also laying claim to Cockmadness. You may pry it from my cold, dead fingers if you wish.

I'm sorry I didn't have anything more serious. I know I've created words in the past, but I can't remember any of them now.

Blort: Attributed to Graham Turner.

It refers to the sound produced by a pipe organ.

"Much music created specifically for the pipe organ consists of blort."

Well, you and Mick did coin the term "Crocodiling", if it makes you feel better...

"Drepper" - That creeping feeling of paraoia and vague embarrasment you get when, in a public place, you start wondering if your flies are undone AND THERE'S NO WAY OF CHECKING DISCREETLY.
Usage - To have the dreppers, I was dreppered.

Narkolepsy: The casual narkiness exhibited by someone too tired or stressed to realise how ill-tempered they are being.

Usage:

"Man, he really bit your head off for nothing!"
"Yeah, talk about a bad case of Narkolepsy."
