This list includes all of my posted fanfiction, except for unfinished things and a few short pieces that I never even gave titles to. All my stories on LJ are also tagged; see the "fic" tags on my sidebar

Your writing. <3praltzyApril 27 2010, 22:16:30 UTC
So I'm not going to lie; I joined LiveJournal after reading you Discworld fan-fiction. I just recently told somebody that there was no such thing as a good fanfic, and you totally made me eat those words.
Do you write anything not from a series or have any intentions of writing anything else from Discworld?

Wow, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the stories. I'm sure I'll write more Discworld stories at some point; I'm going through a writing dry spell at the moment, but that won't last forever.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're asking. If you mean do I write original fiction, no I don't. I've thought about it, but I've never had a plot idea I thought was sufficiently interesting. Plus, I just really love writing fanfic.

Yes, sorry. That's what I meant. :) I was going out of my way to avoid using the word 'original' because I thought it held a connotation that I wasn't trying to present, but I ended up making myself more confusing.
Well good luck with your dry spell! I know the feeling. :)

Yes, "original" does have troubling connotations, because we have such a tendency to equate "original" with "good" when we're talking about artistic endeavors. I'm very much of the belief that fanfiction can be very good, and indeed very original in the sense that it can explore possibilities left untouched by the source text.
Since you like Discworld, let me recommend halotolerant's Like Clockwork, a powerful and exquisitely written Vetinari character study.
*waves* Hi! I stumbled across your journal looking for Tintin fic, and I thoroughly enjoyed not just the fic but your analysis of the comics. The Tintin online fandom has so not so many slash writers, so I was overjoyed to see your work ♥ Then I realized that you wrote one of my favourite Hot Fuzz fics, too, and a lot of other fics for rare fandoms! ♥
Just wanted to tell you that I'm adding you from now on. :)
Slightly belated now, but I wanted to say hi back. (And thanks! I'm glad you like the stories.)
I'm surprised there aren't more Tintin slash writers, because, hello, subtext. But then, I suppose a lot of people read it as kids and would be uncomfortable about slashing the characters later.
