Harry Potter is available for Kindle! You have to buy it from the Pottermore shop (Pottermore still isn't open for us non-beta folk yet, but there is a link on the page at Pottermore that takes you to the shop). It's a little bit of a time consuming process (you have to buy the book(s) on Pottermore, link your Amazon account, and then send the ( Read more... )

So... you still end up downloading the books through Amazon? I really don't see their reasoning for simply not putting the books up to buy on Amazon in the first place. Maybe it's so if people go directly through Pottermore, they won't notice that they're paying $9.99 for most of the ebooks when the paper version is $7.48.

Anyway, thanks for the news, silky_eyes! I saw the books on my library with a date of April 30, so I suspected they were coming soon.

You still end up downloading them through Amazon! I don't get the reasoning (and to be honest all of the politicking and marketing stuff just confuses me) but I'm just happy to have yet another of my favorite book series I can bring to campus with me without filling my car to the roof (or carrying three-dozen bags every day) :-) Also, on the Pottermore site (it isn't listed on the Amazon page) you can buy the whole collection at once and save 10%

Yeah, that is nice. Of course they could totally offer that on Amazon too, if they wanted to. Hunger Games is available either separately or in a bundle, as are quite a few other series.

I'm happy for the people who've really wanted this for a long time. I just feel like there was no reason it had to take this long, or be so complicated.

Thanks for the info!
Price isn't too outrageous really, and although I do have the hardcovers, it might be nice someday to have for Kindle.
