this probably wont answer your question but ive been thinking a lot of about it lately.
i feel like one of the root causes of racism is that we focus as race as an issue. these people are black. how are we going to get the hispanic vote. oh those silly asians are always studying and they are so good at math. even when race division is benign ("who is taylor roberts?" "uh, he's short, he's white, he's got a mohawk?"), it is still drawing distinct lines between races when really we should be focusing on the fact that we're all just plain human.
at this point i realize that there is a lot of racial pride that people have that nobody would want to give up-its part of their heritage and their past-but, at the same time, it is still a racial delineation.
so i came upon the conclusion that a good way to help end racism is to focus not on race in any way-we are all humans-but on culture. celebrate multiculturalism, stop caring about the color of people's skin.
