If you posted this in 4chan, I'd respond to this anonymously with "sage" written in the e-mail field, and write "WEEABOO" in the comment field, ;p.

Where did you learn to make sushi? What recipe do you use for the rice? What kind of rice are you using? I learned as much as I could from books, but still would like to take a class on it, since it's really difficult to make good sushi without being a sushi chef. I wish I could go to sushi school.

I sat in B&N with a stack of books. Then took a few home and read some more. I also feel that books only get you so far. That's why I'm looking into taking classes at Dirk's Fish. It's no sushi school, but it's not far from my place and their sushi tastes pretty good.

The rice recipe we use is out of one the books I bought. For every 3 cups of rice we do 4 Tbsp of rice vinegar, 4 Tbsp of sugar, 2/3 Tbsp of salt. I'm trying to find some kombu to add to the rice, but I think I'll have to go out to Mitsuwa to get that.

The rice we've used so far is cheap Thai stuff, but it's alright. It's older so we add a bit more water. I still need to get some quality rice to keep at Lindsey's.

Yeah I'll admit that it's weeaboo of me, but I<3 sushi.

Sounds like good times! I should make it a point to join you guys on some week. Not to mention I haven't seen you two in ages, and miss yah like crazy. It sounds almost too good to be true, which makes me think she must have a really big and affectionate pet dog or something that would ruin it for me ^_^;;

Last night was fun, thanks for the invite! I learned how to make California rolls when I went to visit my buddy Devin at Duke several years ago in some Sushi club that they had. I've done it a few times with good results. Maybe in the next few weeks I will try making them again.
