I like to think that time was created for the sole purpose of creating history. Which, is important enough that I could never consider it a mistake.
An interesting thought, though. It is indeed much more plausible than the existance of a 'time vortex' or a '4th dimension', but without such notions we would be without such shows as Doctor Who! So I can't fault them.
Yeah, I think it's probably a safe bet to assume that. It's interesting though, without the conception of time there would be no history. Therefore man would not go so far as to build all of the majestic structures and wonders of the world. Indeed every empire that's ruled the earth(or a section of it), has done both amazing and terrible things in an effort to be written into the history books. Us humans have a great desire to be remembered... to leave a legacy for future generations.

I think that the more a person gets use to thinking about stuff like this, the deeper they can think about it without losing their sanity xD
