Ok. I read something that I don't have a link to that kind of irks me, in that "Government is Too Big" kind of way. I think I've figured out why Government has become so. The simple answer? Laziness and apathy, along with a healthy dose of lack of responsibility

I take this back to World War II. Once our society changed to allow women in the workforce, our system has gone to hell. No one is at home to monitor the kids. Parents are too busy making sure everything else gets done to be able to adequately monitor everything their children are doing, such as television, the internet, social pressures, etc. Even when someone realizes this is a problem, economic pressures tend to keep two parents working, because a single parent finds it very challenging to earn enough income to keep the family intact. Certainly not earning the income and still having enough time to raise one or more children properly
