This is the IC contact post for Shouryuu! If there's something you need to say to him that isn't so big that it warrants its own post, please hit him up here.

For organisation purposes, when posting, please could you put Action/Video/Voice/Written and the date (for example [Voice, 1st April]) in the subject line so everything remains easy to keep ( Read more... )

[After two days of rain this morning had dawned clear and bright, much to Rokuta's relief. It wasn't like he couldn't go wandering in the rain- it wouldn't hurt him or anything, but he didn't like to. So he'd spent a couple days cooped up in the house, and now fully intended to go out to wander.

Unfortunately, though, when he stopped in the kitchen to grab some food before heading out, he also stopped to read over the more recent journal entries while he ate. And when he ran across a particular one, he found himself frozen in place, unable to move or think or look away as all color faded form his face. Blood. Blood, flowing across the display so lifelike he could almost smell it, taste the tang in the back of his throat.

Vaguely he realized his knees had grown weak and watery, no longer able to support him. As the floor rose to greet him he thought he heard Yokuhi's voice call out, but wasn't conscious long enough to make sense of the words.]

[It was Yokuhi's shout that had roused Shouryuu from where he'd been settled in his room, hurrying through to the kitchen to see what had caused her to cry out like that.

She'd already picked him up - taking care of Enki was, after all, her entire purpose in life - and Shouryuu crossed the room quickly to see what had happened.

That was when he'd caught sight of the journal.

He slammed Enki's journal shut with a bang and pocketed it along with his own, fully intending to deal with that later.]

Let's take him back to his room.

[He glanced back at the kitchen, grabbed an couple of apples, and followed Yokuhi.]

[The nyokai nodded in both understanding and agreement, cradling the kirin protectively close as she carried him back through the house. Once she'd carefully deposited him back on his recently-vacated bed she faded back into the floor again, trusting that the king would be able to care for him. Fortunate indeed that the journal carried only sight and sound, for he hadn't truly smelled the blood or been touched by it, and should wake soon.]

[Something Shouryuu was quite aware of. He sighed softly and tucked him back carefully into bed, checking to make sure that Enki really was going to be okay and wasn't as sick as he usually was when it came to being around blood.]

[Since he wasn't actually in the presence of the blood and only reacted to the (very unexpected) sight of it, Rokuta began to stir after only a few moments. He opened one eye slightly, then closed it again with a faint grunt.]

'm fine.

[A bit pale, sure. But conscious.]

Then stop lazing around. Sit up and eat your breakfast.

[That's not worry at all. Just scolding his kirin for being lazy. He produces the apple he'd picked up from the kitchen.]

[At another time he might be tempted to make a crack about being served breakfast in bed, so the fact that he doesn't might be telling. Or not. He grimaces and carefully pushes himself back up to a sitting position, waving a hand vaguely at the apple.]

I'm not really hungry. I was just going to go for a walk.

Well, you're going to eat anyway.

[Because Rokuta's not making the jokes he's supposed to be making. Not that it makes Shouryuu worry or anything like that.]

I told you, I'm fine.

[Despite the protest, though, he still reaches out to take the apple because sometimes he actually does obey and he wasn't entirely truthful about not being hungry.]

I was just a little startled, it's not a big deal.

Yes, yes, you're easily startled. As if I didn't already know that.

[But he passes the apple over.]

[He gives a quiet hmph and takes a bite of the apple, chewing with the almost experimental air of someone who isn't quite sure how well food is going to sit once swallowed.]

...did you see the journal?

Yes.

[And he was distinctly unimpressed.]

Some idiot who doesn't know what to do with a book.

[He was just about to take another bite of the apple, but pauses with it halfway to his mouth.]

...they did it on purpose?

Perhaps not completely, but they seemed to think the pages made good blotting paper.
