So...

I finally saw Little Miss Sunshine the other day, and I just have to say: what was the big deal? Cardboard characters, the barest wisp of a plot, unresolved storylines... did I miss something that everyone else in the world didn't?

Would... type... more... but cat... walking... on keyboard...

Augh!

Well, I didn't mean that it wasn't okay, just that it didn't seem like the second coming to me ;)

i think it helped to see it at the time, to put it in the context of the beginning of summer.

You didn't miss anything- it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as great as people said it was. It was entertaining. And it tried too hard. But still, I don't feel like I wasted my money.

The problem with overhyped movies is:

1. People jump on the bandwagon so the idea is that "everyone" loved it/hated it, when half of them probably didn't understand it or like it, but just wanted to be relevant.

2. It builds up expectations, whether you think so or not, and you [unfairly] expect brilliance.

I liked the movie, I thought it was sad and cute.

I was just expecting something a little more... substantial, I guess.

I'm such a snob ;)
