Heh, news media. Y'know every single spring since Katrina the predictions have been "it's going to be a bad hurricane season this year", and.. yeah, nope. But damnit they are going to mentally prepare us for one anyways. (And by mentally prepare I mean try to scare the shit out of.)

Well, I was interested to read this weekend - in I think USA Today? - that a particular section of Reno has been constantly wracked by low-grade earthquakes that have been increasing over the past 2 months.

Obviously, it's not your neighborhood. ;)

The unusual thing is that the big quake usually comes up front and the quakes lessen over time... a possible portent of The Big One?
