Another one of my newer LJ friends also lives in Australia (though I don't remember exactly where) and mentioned how horrible that dust storm is...she said that everything just looked red. It sounds pretty horrible, and I am sure it is a bitch to breathe in.
As soon as our apartment pulls itself more together, I am definitely posting pictures. You absolutely must see our DVD/CD shelf, as I believe you will love it. It apparently holds over 1000 DVDs. We've had it for about 2 years but Phil just put it together last week haha.
As I said, the dust storm apparently stretched from Sydney all the way up past Brisbane, so that is a pretty large area. About 400 kilometres if I am not mistaken. And yes, it was pretty terrible. At first I was doing my best to ignore it, but eventually it just got so thick and horrible.
Haha, I am waiting for them to come out with a shelf unit that has been redesigned for Blu-ray Discs now. The American standard BD cases are thinner, or less deep, but both countries have cases that are less tall and thus take up a bit less space. I honestly do not know why the DVD standard case was made the shape it was in the first place. And having a shelf unit for two years but only just recently putting it together sounds a lot like certain family I have. :|
I am dreading the end of the semester, quite frankly. One of these people, if I were to never hear from them again, my head would be constantly in spin asking what happened to them. I would be agonising about it for the rest of my life. In fact I used to do that about a lot of people I went to school with, until I finally sat myself down and said "look, Dean, those people were assholes, and you do not need to know about them until they drop dead".
*hugs* At one point, the weather people were saying we should prepare for another dust storm. :|
