Thanks. The vote needed a two thirds majority to be successful. It came so close but sadly in the end it was 195/300. All but three of the ruling People's Power Party voted against it. I've no doubt the candlelight vigils will remain, and Yoon will be the most unpopular President ever for the remaining time he has in power.
LOL, it's the most relatable move ever going "oh we're in a military dictatorship now, guess i'll just go to sleep and not bother my partner". That's when you know you are a person of little consequence and the news is just going to happen to you regardless. People wonder how a billion people can live under authoritarianism and this is pretty much why. What are you gonna do? I guess we can be thankful for the activists who were not only very committed to democracy but also were positioned to take a stand in the capital. I wonder what i would do if shit went down at midnight in my city or my country? Probably just go to bed and check the news in the morning too!
