This lunchtime I walked around the UN Park with Daehyeon, and on returning back home encountered the most brazen bit of racism in all my seven years of living in Korea

I understand the impulse to smack him one; he deserves it ... but it really wouldn't be worth getting yourself - and by extension, your family - in trouble over somebody who is quite literally beneath you! That would just be giving him what he wants.

Thanks, I keep having fantasies over what I could have said or done to him in order to leave him with the type of lesson that would ensure he never opened his racist mouth again. But realistically, I'd have likely been tracked down by the police to my apartment and got in deep deep shit for it.
