I'm working a few 6-day weeks in a row, virtually non-stop until departing for Crete. I spent most of yesterday with both eyes on Iran, mostly via Andrew Sullivan. There is a rumor that Rafsanjani is considering an attempt to replace Supreme Leader Khamenei.

Coraline was delightful. I didn't have especially high hopes (I wasn't a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas as I'm not a fan of musicals generally, and was worried it'd be too much of a children's film), but I was pretty effectively entertained for the whole 100minutes. Workblahblah: Has been very slow of late, then today was stupidly busy with lots of foreign-types. A young lady who was (in quarters) Kenyan, French, Italian, somethingelse. 2 exceptionally friendly Israelis. On my shelf is a book that contains a story of a man shot ten times by police before he hit the floor and stayed down. Most of the first nine hit him in the chest, and one ricocheted off his head.
