This is my last week at the zoo and I could cry. My new job as a trainee at an estate agents company starts on monday and I am getting that sort of panic again that i had years ago. I don't want to do this, I don't want to have a contract which lasts 3 years (or if I am hard working 2,5 years) because it gets me back into this awful feeling of ( Read more... )

First point: any new situation creates stress. It's always easier to stay where you are, where you know what the problems are. If you move into the unknown, you may sink, or you may fly. You won't know until you try. It may sound like a cliche, but consider: are you worried about what you want/don't want to do, or are you worried about the unknowns ( ... )

If you think about it, both of these things will be true no matter what you do. Let's say you get a part in a play. You'll have to work hard at it, and fit in with the rehearsal schedule, and you'll have to stick to it even if a more interesting part is offered to you. Alternatively, you could break off from one to do the other, but then you don't achieve the first task, and can't take what you've learned from it and apply it to the next. Don't underestimate the psychological effects of never completing something - or the benefits of the satisfaction you get from completing something.

And I don't know about you, but Christmas is looking way too close, right now. I'm still not ready for June to have finished ( ... )
