This was the most recent entry, so I'm just commenting here. I'm reading Maureen Dowd's book "Are Men Necessary?" and she definitely deserves to be on your countdown list if for no other reason that she manages to compare Donald Rumsfeld and the invasion in Iraq to Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan's cat fight after the 2005 MTV awards. Genius.
Actually, as ridiculous as this is, it is a fairly serious matter. Because allowing pregnant mothers to drive in the carpool lane is at least a tacit, if not outright, admittance that a fetus is a person. And if a fetus is a person, that means one can argue that abortion is murdering that person.
I read part of this debate. I still think the manifestation of battling pro-life on the highways is rather ludicrous. I do see the dilemma, and I will not even attempt to touch the pro-life/pro-choice argument. I just thought the bumber stickers were hilarious.
