I got to go take pictures of a rescued horse today. It was just like one of those "Animal Presinct" shows on The Animal Planet. The horse was really underweight and had been tied to a post in an enclosement with no grass, hay, or fresh water. I went to work today looking for wild art as soon as I left my apartment today. I searched non-stop for two hours and didn't find shit. I just got back from visiting Madyson in the hospital in Jackson. Poor girl is in lots of pain. She has a real hard time standing up or sitting down. And she has a drainage tube coming out of her side because the surgeons had to flush her with an antibiotic fluid once they saw that her appendix had ruptured. After working on construction jobs off and on for most of my life, I wore my very first hard hat today. I was working for the paper taking pictures of some big machinery and they company made me and the reporter wear them. So before we left, I got him to take a picture of us.

I took pictures of fireworks for the first time the other night. I had the perfect position for it right across the street from my apartment. I think they came out pretty good. Tell me what you think. Make sure to add plenty of ooooooos and aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhs in there too. You can't look at fireworks without saying it...it's impossible.

So, the fouth week of my internship starts today. So far it's been pretty good, but I'm starting to get a little annoyed. My editor seems to show a lot of favoratism to the only other male photographer...only giving him the adult sports assignments, out of town assignments having to do with sports, and generally just going really easy on him ( Read more... )
