hate how cliques tend to override sensibility and vote via popularity stakes. It will make the society less accessable for everyone unless you happen to be a suck-up in the favour of the presidents friends. But, as you said, you will no longer be associated with the society and that could be a good thing since there is no longer a 'non-david's friend' (i couldn't think of another way to word this, i've only just woken up) to balance the society out - I could be speaking out of tune here, since i do not know anyone else but how it seems to me is that you seem to be passionate of the history aspect, but this david guy seems to be more passionate of controlling and getting his own way..and that's not good if the only people he can 'control' are in charge

Yeah it seems to me you find people like that in any kind of social situation, especially in the workplace. Its sad someone who does seem committed to their job is ultimately hounded as she doesn't 'Fit In'. Your sister seems a little overbearing and i'm guessing talking to her about this isn't a bright option. If she starts to seriously affect the success of the business with her controlling ways in the long run i'd risk telling her this rather than letting the company fail(maybe thats being a little melodramatic, but still). I doubt she's anything as bad as David though

Well, it's not too bad since we rather employees are committed to their tasks rather than spend their time worrying about fitting in or not. One thing is though, at the very least in future, that we both balance each other out as we both think on opposite extremes and we always end up having to compromise. But this will be better than just having either her or me in control in the long run. At least. :-/ This david does sound pretty bad though, and it seemed a much better history community project when you were there. But to reduce the size of the community, is defeating a purpose of it being an open learning society, which is what a lot of people would possibly want (why would anyone go to a place where they are not welcome despite their interests?) One shouldn't have to put up with all the crap that was going along - and hey ~ why don't you start your own? start a study group for history, organise places and people and watch it grow.
