More than likely, I won't be deploying once I get out of boot camp, just because of the situation that the Navy is in at the moment. It's also depending on what job I choose or am assigned to once I'm out.

But I gotta do something, ya know? I never thought I would end up in the military, but I never thought I'd be broke and/or homeless, either.

So thanks. I probably won't be safe or happy, but I'll be.

My best friend is in the Marines, and he got deployed the second he was out of boot camp.. he's home, and about to be deployed again for a year.

Just don't go into this blindly. You will end up in Iraq or somewhere. Soon.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me, even if I do end up in Iraq. The only concerns I have right now are of the unknown.

I stopped being afraid once I hit the bottom.

I've seen people really turn their lives around while in the military.

However, the last person I knew who did so died in Iraq.

While right now just might not be the best time to enlist, I wish you nothing but the best.

My grandpa was a Marine, and he served in Korea, I believe. He's been one of the only family members that I could look up to, and talk to. If the Corps did that to him, then I'll do whatever it takes to get my life turned around as well.
