I love the sparkly icon. -> BatactionisitablurredMay 29 2011, 17:26:13 UTC
You're by far the best at blending in.
[Take that as a compliment if you like. He's there, though, just when he said he would be, just rustling cape, on the tallest building in the sector, keeping watch.]
he looks pretty. and angry. and sparklykingofrooksMay 29 2011, 17:47:09 UTC
[ Oh, he's totally taking it as a fact, not a compliment. And Bruce is on that rooftop, the wind rustling his own cape- and he turns around to look at Clark for a long moment.
Takes in the uniform. ]
Is that the surprise?
[ He looks good in it. Not that he expects anything different. ]

You don't sound that impressed.
[He's still feeling it out. He's probably always going to feel this way. The way the fabric tugs in the wind is new, fighting in it takes practice. At least Carrie has gelled his hair back, though he doesn't much like the loose curl.]
[He's grateful for the advice. Needs it, in fact. So he stands distinctly straighter, not making light of his remarkable height the way he usually did, but using it, rolls his shoulders back and lets the tension across them settle into something more rigid. He raises his chin.
Tries to hover, but can't.]
Lower my voice? Oliver had phone devices that could do that, but I don't think I can just change it so easily.
[ Bruce rolls his eyes. And deliberately lightens his voice, makes it into that higher-pitched, foppish voice of Brucie Wayne. ]
Oh, and you'll just be so inconspicuous with a machine around his throat, and sounding different over the phone versus in-person. [ He goes down, all the way to Batman's growl. ] You're not supposed to be suspicious.
[ And swaps it for something in between, deeper, lower. ] You have full control over all of your muscles, including your vocal chords.
[He's still pretty sure it's not that easy, but his voice... It's about vibrations, isn't it? Something he's been working on for a while. It's not as simple as shaking his hand very fast, it's slowing the vibrations, shortening the waves, changing his voice.
[ There's just a flicker of a moment before Bruce just- smiles a little. Not bad- in fact, it's almost perfect. It's the voice that he's used to- and that's saying a lot. ]
Like that. [ Back to Batman's voice, and he nods sharply. ]

Not enough of a surprise for you?

Stand straighter. Shoulders back, square them. Lift your head, look down at me at a 17 degree angle. [ He pauses. ] Try to hover again, just a little.
And when you talk, lower your register by an octave. Don't gesticulate too much.

His first attempt is a mess. His second works.
Sometimes he honestly surprises himself.]

What kind of voice are you using for Clark Kent?
[ He says the name as a persona. A disguise. ]
