Is there any chance of an explanation?

Sounds like 'Robbing'.

My partner.

There have been more than one.

Well I knew that. You talked about losing one, not long after I came here. So I assumed there must have been two. Three with Carrie, at least.

So how many are we talking about? And what happened to them?

Why must something have happened to them?

One of them died, but I'm guessing they're not all your Robins now, right? I mean... They'd compete for one thing. It'd drive you nuts.

They don't have to compete to do that.

The oldest is now Nightwing. The second died. The third should still be Robin. The fourth is most likely using another name, now,

The latest is the new arrival.

[Pause.]

Did you say 'Nightwing'?

[ Very amused: ]

Mmhmm.

[ Yes. You gave his oldest son his new superhero name. This is how close you two are. ]

That is so... So cool. [Okay, serious face.] Uh... So how does Carrie fit into all of this?

I would've thought it to be incomprehensible for you.

Carrie's my Robin here.

Fortress of Solitude ring any bells? Giant Kryptonian supercomputer--no? I spent long enough locked into that thing with Jor-El feeding knowledge into my head to have picked up a few things.

[Like an entire language, and some mythology. Pause.]

So, a Robin with a Kryptonian name... Nightwing.

[He pronounces it in its native tongue, and doesn't sound at all smug. Nope. Not one bit.]

His name is Dick Grayson, and he's your age. [ He sounds so incredibly amused right now. ] Clark used to drop by and tell him stories when he was a boy.

And I didn't mean that you wouldn't have recognized the name. I meant that having one of my children having a Kryptonian codename would've been confusing rather than cool.

[ No, he didn't realize that he just used 'my children'. ]
