I love grading journals. Basically this is my only chance to see if anything I've been throwing at them all semester actually stuck in their minds. From the looks of the journals, at least a few things did - mind you, they're telling me what they think I want to hear, which is part of this, but at least they're thinking. It's an easy assignment

Of course, tonight I'm coming home with a stack of research papers. I suspect this positive attitude will abate.

Ack. I got my stack yesterday, and it was so frightfully big that it wouldn't even fit in my bag. *sob.

I'm hoping the feedback I gave on their rough drafts was an indicator that they should fix major problems before they "count" -- perhaps I'm being irrationally positive here.
