Are there any volunteer opportunities involving animals in Kingston? While I was in Peterborough I volunteered at the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre, where I fed turtles and cleaned tanks, and I would like to do something similar here.

Also, are there any (preferably cheap) horseback riding lessons being offered within biking distance of Kingston?

These sessions run about once every 4 months or so. We don't often have turtles, but are always in need of dog walkers, cat cuddlers, and people to work at off-site events, among other things. Volunteers have no set schedule, it's come and go as you please. If you're really keen on turtles... I'm not sure, but you might want to check with this guy:

as far as I know he's just snakes, but might be able to point you in the right direction...
