I don't want to miss school. Please, please let this over-reaction pass us by. I get that the CDC is making districts close down affected schools. I do. but I don't want to be out of school! Please!

Whole districts being closed is a bit of an over-reaction...

sheesh! And there's a typo in the article (March 11 instead of May 11). That would be a really long closing. ;)

They are panicked here, too. One of my friend's mom was visiting and had caught just the regular flu and given it to her. She got reported to the Swiss equivalent of the CDC and almost got put under house quarentine until they got the test results back.

Its a tough one; the CDC is quite right to advise precautionary action while the epidemiology is still all up in the air, and with any luck with hindsight their actions (and the actions of similar bodies all over the world) WILL have been an over-reaction.
