:D I don't know a lot of these flowers. Possibly I am ignorant about flowers, or they're not commonly available in my area or something. I don't know. But I totally hear you about the old roses. They smell so good. New roses may look nice but they smell like crap. There is this one variety (sort of peach and yellow) that has this "aftersmell" that reminds me of smoked salmon. Which isn't a bad smell, really, it's just weird. It sort of creeps up your nostrils and lingers and prickles. If I just smelled new roses without having smelled old roses, I don't think I'd mind. They don't smell bad, they smell kind of interesting. I like the smells of ordinary plants which aren't necessarily perfumey or pretty-smelling. I like that florist-shop smell. It's just that I sort of hold new roses to the standards of old roses, and am disappointed when they don't smell as good
