Hello! My daughter had to have valve surgery when she was 4. That was 9 years ago and even the the procedures were pretty advanced. Your Tristan will be just fine. They have come so so far in advanced heart surgery that it will be a breeze. It is however, the scariest thing ever for a mommy to go thru. We found out by accident. I took her for an ear infection and when he heard the heart murmur he sent us right away for and EKG and Echo. The went in under her arm and thats most likely what they will do with Tristan if he needs the surgery. By the way, my son used to suck his two middle fingers like that! It always makes me smile when I see another baby doing it. Everything is going to be just fine. This will be the scariest thing of your life, but this too shall pass and soon you won't ever know he had a problem at all.
