Title: Day 3. Restless.
Pairing: Jongkey
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Jonghyun waits.
A/N: Drabble, three of thirty.
Jonghyun was bored and lazy but it wasn’t like he was ready to start doing the dishes that had piled up in the sink or change the sheets or water the garden. It was too hot.
And Key did those things.
Well, usually he did. It was obvious by the smell in the bathroom that he missed the weekend he usually cleans it, and by the gritty feel of the sheets Jonghyun knew that the bi-monthly changing had gone unchanged. Granted, Jonghyun was supposed to do the dishes, but Key usually did those too. Every evening.
Yet, Jonghyun couldn’t bring himself to get up and start working. It wasn’t that he’d had a long day or was exhausted by a difficult week.
A fly circled the room and got swept up in the ceiling fan’s air current. It bumped into the wall, then continued its patrol.
Jonghyun buried his face in his hands. His shoulders shook, but he was silent. There was a chance that Key would come parading in the door at any second, and he wouldn’t be caught making embarrassingly womanly sounds.
At any second. The thoughts made his eyes and throat dry up once again. Suddenly the heat seemed to make them burn, make his eyelashes crackle. The tremors in his shoulders ceased, left only his hands shaking. He put his right on the arm of his chair, for stability practice, but when he brought it up again he didn’t feel very stable.
Kitcat mewled and rubbed up against his shin. Key’s cat, but Jonghyun knew he should at least feed her and fill her water. Because, what if he was the only one left to do it?
