“The artist never entirely knows. We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark.” - Agnes De Mille

The dark haired man with pale skin and slender fingers raises the steel black camera to his bright blue eyes.
Flash.
The neon lights dance and the roar of the underground subway thrums beneath his converse clad feet.
The city is alive.
Flash.
He spins, his lips opened in a wide smile as he lets out a breathless laugh. His silent exclamation escapes into the cold crisp air and turns to fog.
Wow.
Flash.
Then there is silence. The man’s lips widen in surprise and a scream. The sound is muffled under the city’s heartbeat and goes unnoticed, lost in the night. Gloved hands grab and converse feet thrash.
The steel black camera falls to the ground.
Flash.
And another is stolen.

Your fic = WIN.
This totally has the Criminal Minds feel to it, which is awesome since I'm watching it right now haha.
I'm writing a CM/Merlin/HP(Marauders) big bang right now and this totally inspired me to write 10,000 words before the deadline Saturday :]

Seriously, I've been hoping this prompt would be filled for AGES.
Can't wait to see where you go with this.

Oh no, Merlin!!! D: This continues to be excellent, and thank you so much for your updates! I'm at the edge of my seat, and I can't wait until Arthur makes his entrance. I'm really enjoying how visceral these scenes are, and how you bridge the scenes with descriptions of color -- that seem to connect the scenes while making it feel like a TV set-up, somehow.
