Arthur/Merlin

Arthur gets turned invisible somehow, and decides to pretend to be 'missing' just to see how people react, eavesdrop on what people are saying about him etc.

It's Merlin's reaction that surprises him the most.

Arthur turned invisible an hour before the King of Porlia and his twin daughters were due to arrive at Camelot.

He hadn't intentionally gone invisible, of course. The mere idea was absurd. Invisibility required magic, and Arthur, of course, was no magic user.

(He assumed it required magic. Unless there was some sort of herb? But no, surely not, or else there would signs, such as widespread thieving, and children shirking chores, and invisible peeping Toms.)

No, someone had done this to Arthur. Some sorcerer had done this to the Prince of Camelot. Arthur had to get to the bottom of this ( ... )

Arthur trailed after Gaius into Uther's council room. Uther was pacing back and forth along one wall. He stopped when the door closed ( ... )

Being invisible wasn't all it was cracked up to be. The entire point, Arthur assumed, was to avoid detection, but that meant you couldn't open doors, which meant you spent a lot of time standing around waiting for people. What Arthur really needed was to be able to walk through walls. If he ever found the sorcerer who had done this to him, he was going to give him a stern talking-to for doing half-arsed magic ( ... )

The title made me giggle, and the story even more so. Looking forward to more.

Arthur is certainly using this invisibility to his advantage and I love that he's getting a look at how open people are when not in the presence of royalty.

This made me laugh out loud: First of all, if there was sucking off being done, why was it not being done to him? Hadn't his knights ever heard of the chain of command? Your Arthur voice is hysterical.

I said "TBC tomorrow", which is now today, but today kicked my butt, so I don't have an update to this yet. Just wanted to comment about that, since I am not doing what I said I would. And now: sleep!

[I totally know how to spell Gaius. See: Gaius Gaius Gaius. Also, I am sorry for the delay in continuing this. I blame my job, which totally pays better than fandom but is way less fun ( ... )

What a brilliant reveal and I like how protective Arthur is of Merlin. Is Merlin responsible for his invisibility? I'm looking forward to finding out.
